A man, believed to be in his late fifties, died on Saturday whilst diving off the coast of Cabo de Palos, Cartagena.

The captain of a dive vessel alerted the 112 emergency services at around 11:30 saying that they had pulled the man from the water and that he was in an unconscious state.

CPR was performed on the man whilst an ambulance sped to the scene but there was nothing that could be done to save his life, the latest victim in a spate of water related incidents in the area.
