I notice that a lot of Scubaboarders stay at the Caribe Blue. I must be honest and confess that I had not heard much about this place prior to the last 3 or 4 months. All the reviews I have read on it give very high marks for cleanliness, (very important to wife/non-diver at this point in life). How would it compare to Coral Princess other than the obvious size? How does it compare to other places where you have stayed?
I may be down towards the end of January and most of the resorts we have stayed at will not be open yet. I did see some resent pictures and it appears to have been quite devastated, with cleanup continuing. Thanks for any help! kuip
try www. aldora.com they have a villa that is real clean and very nice. Great Views and very little damage from the storm. The villa only had a little water damage to the bottom floor but that was fixed right away. they have storm shudders so was protected. The backside of the villa had alot of damage to the yard area but has since been fixed. The villa is called Villa Aldora. Kathy in texas

Borg,

Was the pool filled by the time you left?

Harpua
No, unfortunately we had to leave the day they painted it. They did work like dogs getting it ready. Some nights they were out there, inside working on the pool equipment/plumbing until well after 9:00 PM. Christi said the pool was filled by Dec. 27. She also said the dock was almost ready, so I probably is good to go my now.

We missed our 1st stay there due to Hurricane Emily damage in July - ended up at Villa Las Ancles in town. (Quite nice and great location neat the Plaza.) We managed to grab a flight and will be staying at Caribe Blu in February. Looking forward to finally getting an opportunity to check out the place. I'm all for clean, basic & quiet ... with great diving!!

I'll bet you were popular, in a good way.

Best $17 I have spent in a long time. They also rolled in a fridge for us in the room (you have to ask).

I always end up doing something like this on vacation and then donate the item to the maid. Blenders are always a good thing to have on vacation and I guarantee that the 2 of us would have paid 10x that in a week if we hadn't made drinks in the room some of the time. I have become quite proficient again in my life at making Margaritas, Pina Coladas, etc.
