Hey all,
I am heading on my second cruise with Princess and thought I'd stop by and post. I will be doing W. Caribbean and already signed up for SCUBA with the stingrays and SCUBA in Cozumel. Is anyone else on this cruise? Wanna buddy up with my husband and me?

My husband is advanced and also has his nitrox cert. Not sure if they even offer nitrox (hopefully not or he'll be running circles around me!). Anyway, we're 30 and 28 and have no kids.

Cruisecritic had a post about the same cruise but they were all looking for people with kids. We don't have them, so we're focusing on the excursions and all.

I won't be on this cruise but am taking the same cruise in July. Do you plan to book through the cruise line or go on your own? I will be diving Cozumel and Grand Cayman. Both places offer Nitrox for around $8.00 extra. I am booking on my own because with the cruise line you will only get cattle boats. I will diving with Papahogs in Cozumel and Neptunesdivers in Grand Cayman. I have dove with both on past cruises.

Enjoy,

If you are diving with the cruiseship operator forget about nitrox. The profile and bottom time restrictions won't make nitrox worth it.

Ron is right. The ship's dives will likely be follow the leader dives with predetermined bottom times. That is fine for the once a year type of diver typical for cruise ship excursions, but if your husband is nitrox capable, I doubt that he will be very pleased being told he has to end his dive after 40 minutes when he still has lots of gas left.

www.neptunesdiver.com in GCM is a good operator, especially for cruisers because they offer a flexible schedule.

In addition to the already mentioned papahogs, Cozumel has many fine dive operators, so you should definitely be able to find one that will meet your needs. I'd look at going with www.scubatony.com or www.scubawithalison.com
