Hi,

I hope to be traveling to the D.R. in the next few months for cave/cavern & ocean diving. I have no interest in the "tourist zoo all-inclusive" hotels.

The Caribbean Fiesta Hotel in Santo Domino looks like it has everything I'm looking for
but I don't want to be in an isolated area. I like to walk and would like a place that's within walking distance to a restaurant, store etc.

Any advice will be appreciated.

The DR is on the bottom of my places I have been diving in 25 years. Never heard anyone say good/great diving there. I stayed in Santo domingo but not there but it was A.I.....I did dive in a cenote there and it was fun but for overall cenote/cavern diving and ocean diving go to Cozumel. Downtown DR is full of prostitutes and is not safe at night. One trip to the DR was enough I will never go back. There are much better places to go then to the DR. Just my 2 cents.
