I work out everyday before I dive. 1 hour in the Gym..Free Weights. But I have been doing this for the 24 years of My military career. I don't drink alcohol..and I drink water like a fish. Cardio wise, I run about 30 miles a week or hit the eliptical runner. I think overall anything during Your pre-dive will not bother You. Most people get very little excersise, if You have been working out regularly. I would say..workout..then dive

BOO-RAH! I'm not a military guy (but am past 45 yrs. old and still work out like one), and I lift weights 4x per week (hard, not walking around the gym with a cup of coffee, but 60 mins, straight huffing and puffing and grunting and spitting - ok, no spitting). On those days I do 30 mins. high intensity cardio, and the other 3 days I do 60 mins. alternating high intensity cardio and then abdominal exercises. I am 6', 170 lb. and can dive with 6 lbs. in a 3mm. I dive and work out, work out and then dive, run and then dive then workout...or just dive, or just workout...I don't even think about it. If you're in shape, you're in shape, and all that stuff doesn't much matter. Get fit, dive and don't worry about it!!!!!
