I'm a Fish!
What's the current best bang for the buck closed muzzle carbon fiber speargun? I was thinking of getting a 120cm twin band closed muzzle Mako Predator, but I perfer carbon fiber if its price is close since aluminum barrels scare off fish. I'm not up to date on top of the line spear guns and features. Also what do you guys think of reels on spearguns?

Many, many people use aluminum rail guns and they would not be popular if " they scared off fish". Carbon fiber is most useful because of it's rigidity rather than acoustic properties, I believe. Carbon fiber barrels are most often used for very long guns (130 cm and larger). Carbon fiber is significantly more expensive and is probably less forgiving of abuse, relative to aluminum.

Can I get a personal recommendation of the two types? It'll be very valuable to me coming from someone with good experience. I'm so tired of researching and want to buy a speargun now but won't regret after a few years of knowledge.

Well I put in the order for the 120cm twin band closed muzzle Mako Predator already. Hope I don't regret it in 3 years after the warranty.

You wont regret it. Dano at Mako is a real good guy and he takes care of his customers. I really think your gonna love that Mako. I sure do mine.

Not tellin you your business, but you may be happier in the long run with an open muzzle. It allows you to use sharkfin tab shafts without troubles and is quicker to reload.

I have the same Mako gun and like it a lot.

Swapping muzzles I hear isn't that hard at all.

I totally forgot the 2nd reason why I got a Mako, is because their closed muzzle can shoot sharkfin or pin-tabbed spears.
