Car stereo in boats???

The location of the radio relative to rain or canvas drip exposure will help determine the useful life.
On my cuddy cabin a brand new marine radio was good for 2 seasons. After my second unit I decided a boom box and Ipod was the best solution. If your radio is inside a dry cabin with a door it will last longer.

Another option is to install a plug for your MP3 player. In a lot of new cars you will find these on the dash. Most stereos have some unused wires for a "line-in". This way, you keep your marine stereo and have the ability to play many CDs worth of music.
After you put in the car stereo, get a set of fuzzy dice imprinted with your boat's name on them. Your wife ever give you any lip after that about taking the boat out, there'll be 100 babes standing by for a boat ride.
