I originally posted in the regular Fl. forum instead of here.

I'm awaiting a response from Daly's to see when they might be going out next week. I'm willing to drive out to Panama City in order to get in some diving for that timeframe.

Well, my first ocean dives were not so spectacular. I dove with Daly's on Tuesday, July 22. The staff were all great; they were very friendly and helpful. Unfortunately, the dive conditions literally had me wishing for my cold mid-western quarries. The first dive was on an artificial reef, I think called Williams reef (made up of old septic tank that were left over from some hurricanes a few years back). At 50fsw, the visibility was maybe 10'. At the second site, the Vamar, the visibility was maybe 5'. The second dive was aborted. Being used to sometimes poor visibility conditions, I would've been content to look for shark teeth in the low vis. conditions, but the majority decided to abort the dive. With no other reliable options, we headed in. As I mentioned earlier, the staff was helpful and friendly.

But, alot of money for 1.1 dives in poor conditions

Thanks for the heads up. I will be in the area next week and hope to dive as much as possible.

I dove again on Thursday. I made the hour drive out to Panama City and dove with "Dive Locker". I picked well, as the captain and DM tried to get out small group (5) to sites that didn't have the large 'cattle boats' already onsite.

The vis. wasn't spectacular, but both sites were loaded with fish.
