Took my son for his 1st Nubble Lighthouse dive. Conditions were great considering breezy SW winds. We came in at low tide. We got there late and intended to do a "dusk" dive and it turned out being a night dive. We had prepared for a night dive. Surface temp 57 degrees, temp at depth (51 fsw max depth) was 50 min. BT of 40 min. We entered as two other divers were exiting and commenting on the great vis. (20 feet +)
We went to the island, towards the tip and around to other side and back. Along the way, came across a nice sized "Lobzilla", the kind so big it couldn't lift its claws. A nice Northern Red Anemone, a lot of cunner, flounder. My son was in awe of all the fish out. He can't wait to get out again and do another one. We entered after sun set at 8:16 and out at 8:56 PM
My son bumped into one of his Bishop Guertin HS Wrestling team mates and his girlfriend.
A good way to spend end of work day.
