I am unsure how diving out of Hatteras, NC looks like these next few months and into next year now that the recent hurricane has done its fair share of damage. I dived with a Hatteras outfit last summer...great diving...lots of life...not just some boring wreck...good amount of sand tiger sharks, schools of spade fish and a bunch of old barracudas were a sight to see. I recommend Hatteras to anybody...I just hope the operators can get their outfits squared away.

The state just got the road to Hatteras village open this week. I was at the Oregon inlet marina week before last and it is in fine shape. We are use to hurricanes in NC, I suspect things will be back to normal in a couple of months, for sure by next spring.

I am happy to hear that they were able to repair the road to Hatteras. Have things changed since the hurricane?

but I definitely want to get out as soon as possible. I'd love to be one of the first out. Heck, I'd go now if I could.
I'm hoping that I can talk Outer Banks into taking us out in late March.

Outer Banks = OBX Dive Center?

I didn't think they started running until May.

No, I'm talking about OuterBanks Diving in Hatteras Village. About an hours south. Johnny will start running as soon as he gets people ready to go.

I tried for over a year to get out with OBX. Never did so finally gave up.

They had problems with their boat but finally got a "new" one back around July.
