I will be down in the Cape Coral area this June/July. I am a newer diver and I am looking for some good places to dive for my girlfriend and I. Something easier maybe(no currents, good viz, etc). Also, what thickness suit should we use at that time, we are used to 7mm in New England. And what are some good shops down there to get tanks from and are there any good tours available?

You'll be warmer in Florida during the summer with just a swim suit than in NE with a 7 mil.

Come visit us at the Caloosa Dive Club while you're down. We meet Thursdays (except the 4th Thursday) at the Yacht Club in Cape Coral.

I'd recommend diving the east coast until you get a little experience. The Gulf can be a little challenging for beginners. Keep checking the Florida section of the board, there are lots of us who are very active divers, there's someone diving all the time. We're usually very happy to dive with new buddies.
