I will be in the area in April and looking to do some diving. Any good dive shops in the area? Any info is appreciated.

Apologies for not responding. Not sure how I missed your thread. I normally watch all Florida posts.

Regarding diving in Lee County (Cape Coral/Ft Myers/Estero/Bonita Springs), it is pretty much non-existent. There are some spearfisherman and boats that cater to them, but the only actual scuba charter I know of in the area is down on Marco Island. The diving on this coast is just not great. The beaches are awesome, but there is not much good diving unfortunately. It is very shallow extending far offshore and not much to dive without needing to go 20-30 miles out.

I'm a regular diver who gets only monthly, but I head across the state to dive primarily in Palm Beach County (Jupiter/Palm Beach/Boynton Beach). Far better diving with many, MANY more charter options. I've been living in SWFL for going on 9 years now and I've been diving off this coast ONCE! On the other hand, I log ~50 dives a year in SEFL from Jupiter south to Key Largo.
