Guess not!

Well...I went diving. We were at Pebble Beach. It was light when we went in and dusk when we came out. Not a bunch to see....lots of lobster, crab, BRAVE flounder (I got my face within a foot of one of them...it didn't budge), and THOUSANDS of small, purple jellyfish.

I wore my drysuit (as usual) which is going into the shop today, 'cuz both arms leak horribly. However, because the water had been so warm, I only had a sweatshirt, shorts, and wool socks on underneath....well...the water was like 57 degees...which isn't so bad, but when you're wet in a drysuit without thinsulate underwear---it is cold.

I've discovered that steel tanks rule. Being used to AL80s in fresh water where I use like 34 lbs of weight, I started my excursion into salt water with steel tanks at 38 lbs. Last night I was using 24 lbs and was still slightly overweighted (which was good, because a large portion of the dive was above 15 fsw).

I'm loving this whole shore diving thing. It's so nice to not have to shell out $50 every time you want to go diving!

Sorry I couldn't make. I had gone the night before to Folly's and had an excellent dive. I was quite surprised to find so many large lobsters at Pebble beach. So many divers and pretty shallow, you would think all the keepers would be taken. We'll have to hook up sometime. Mon and Tue evenings are when I generally go out. Love to have some fellow board members join us.
