The saltwater weight depends on your body mass and what you're wearing at the time. I'm 6 feet tall/210lb and add about 3-4 lbs in salt water diving the same setup.
 
Could you stabilize them so they weren't banging around and hurting things (the weights, I mean)?
 
to keep from rolling over to the right or left you need to have the weight from whatever source balanced on both sides of your body. You may need to add some weight to your left to counterbalance the light on your right.
