His there a difference between canon and ikelite housing for canon the canon SD550? I have the canon housing which has never flooded. Online ikelite housing $50 and want to know if its worth upgrading to the ikelite housing. Maybe someone has used both housing for this camera and could use some advise on if I should stick with my canon or buy the ikelite.

The price on 550s has dropped to the point where a flood is not as bit a deal. They are not to the disposable level but it is not like flooding a 5D3 with an L prime on it. I think a more distinguishing element of the Ikelite might be usability. I have not used either but I would guess you would have more usability of all of the buttons on the Ikelite.

I used SD550 with Canon housing and S90 with Ikelite. So I had not used the same camera with different hosing makes. But I need to point out that Ikelite uses a different screw thread size for the strobe arm attachment. So if you have a strobe from someone else like Intova etc you'll need some engineering to screw it on to the Ikelite housing.
