Help me decide. S95 at $400 and SD940 at $159.99 Considered S95 due to its manual capability and might end up wanting to upgrade if I get a 940. Both have HD video which I like, not sure if the $240 price difference is worth it for the S95. thanks

How would you use each? In what modes? strobes? Is video important? Sounds like it.

I don't know a lot about the 940, but can it do custom white balance or an underwater white balance mode for video? S95 can do both, so that might be an important consideration.

What do you like to shoot, small & close or more wide. If wide, then the RAW capability of S95 is important in order to get colors correct post processing.

No comparison. The SD940 does not have manual controls like Tv, Av and M modes, No flash power settings, no RAW, has 2.8 lens vs 2.0 on the S95, has a slightly smaller monitor than the S95.

For underwater (as well as topside) use the S95 is a far superior camera.

RAW mode is a must for the best quality underwater non-strobe shots.

thanks guys, i am going with the S95, just ordered the canon casing from J&R. Just waiting for my bestbuy discount coupon to arrive.
