Hi guys

Im not sure if theres been a thread to discuss this but Im wondering if upgrading to S95 will give me any 'significant' improvements in video quality since it has HD. I mainly shoot stills however for some upcoming trips video mode would be great. I have been able to take some good quality VGA videos so far with my S90. Im trying to debate whether it is any worth the extra to upgrade.

Also any links threads discussing still photography differences would be appreciated.

If I do decide on the S95 upgrade and go a Fix 95 Housing will there be the same 52mm-67mm thread adapters to fit lenses that Im using with current Fix S90 Housing setup? Will I need to get a whole bunch of adapters?

I use a fibre optic cable to connect to S2000 strobes the S95 Fix port for the fibre optic looks very different. Anyone also care to explain how this will work and what additional accesory to purchase?

Nemrod?

Thanks.

I bought a $10 52mm-67mm adapter for my Fix S95 Housing and it works fine for the Inon UCL-165 lens. I also bought the UWL-04 which has 52mm threads.

I connected my S2000 no problem with a regular fibre optic cable. Just stuck the exposed end into one of the small holes in the flash blocker.

Thanks Shutsal Well I'll just edit slightly to my post to say that because I have my Fix Housing and the Recsea looks identical I would prefer to get the Recsea S95 housing instead. I believe looking at it I will not require more adapters for it if I upgrade?

If you're thinking about upgrading just for the video, maybe you should look at getting a GoPro or something similar.

I attach mine on the cold shoe of the S90 Fix housing. It can easily record an entire dive or two, but to avoid too much editing, I only push record when I specifically want it. Before I got my GoPro, I found I always forgot to change from camera to video when I should (action shots, sharks, etc). By having both, I can keep taking photos, and get the video at the same time.

GoPro Hero records in 1080p HD, with very good quality. You just have to get a flat lens port from a third party for the housing (costs about $20-30) because the curved one that comes with the GoPro doesn't focus properly underwater.

Can't say how much of an upgrade but can show an example. Minimal iMovie processing ('cause I have minimal skills).

full screen with stretch "on" is not bad imo.
