It's difficult to do an apples-to-apples comparison, because everyone sets their camera differently (i.e., flash mode, flash output, display brightness, camera power down timer, display off timer, etc.) and that can affect the duration of the battery. /QUOTE]

What I did for my comparison was put my S90 in front of the television, then shoot video clips until the battery showed low, which was about 70 minutes with either the "1000mAhr" or the "1400mAhr" China batteries, and about 112 minutes with the Canon battery that came with the camera. All batteries had been through a few charge cycles before the test, and re-test results were within a couple of percent.

I agree with you,

The issue I realized specifically for the S90 is that the battery size compared to a G11 battery is more than the half smaller, (it is obvious to any one that the overall camera size of S90 is much more smaller than G11 which renders battery space smaller) and this makes me obliged to have a spare battery and also with high mAh. As S90 battery (new) lasts for 2-3 dives or a day upon extensive use (what about after a year !!). But G11 last 3-4 days of diving (my freind's experience).

So I can see that Wasabi is the solution as I assume it can out perform the orginal battery life time of an S90.

Has anyone else ordered S90 batteries from Chinese suppliers on ebay and if so what are your opinions of them? I have just received mine and they certainly appear genuine enough, they are not an exact match to the one I got with the camera but very close and they came in very official looking canon packaging complete with holograms - the proof will be when I try shooting with them I suppose but would be keen to hear anyone elses experience with them.

Thanks

I think I bought the same 2 months ago; white instead of grey but v. genuine looking.
The terminal end of the battery case started to come open after a month of use so I've taped it up, otherwise it seems to have the same performance as the original...

One of mine was bad like that, right out of the package new. I noticed it because is made it fit tightly in the charger.
