Can the canon OEM housings accept external lenses? It does not look like they do?

I'm looking at a Canon IXUS 980IS package ( camera and Canon housing ) at the moment with an INON Bayonet Lens Mount thrown in the deal..

is that have full manual controls?

Its the very first IXUS model to have the necessary shutter and aperture priority modes.

Just for information, this isn't the whole story. This camera has only 2 settings for aperture (2.8 and 7.1? if I remember) and the whole range of shutter speeds. It's an excellent step up for the SD range, but it isn't full manual control until they give us more aperture choices - there's quite a difference in 2.8 or 7 in terms of how much light one is getting to the sensor.

OP - yes, at least some of the Canon housings can accept add-on wet mount lenses. Some housings may require an adaptor, too.

It depends upon which model housing, some can and some cannot. Inon makes adapters for many housing as long as they have round ports, those with the weird square ports--no.

In the pic below you see the Inon AD bayonet adapter and external strobe trigger on my Canon DC-12 which fits the wonderful Canon A570IS.

Here is the Canon on an Inon tray with Inon 165AD lens and Inon D2000 strobe.

If you really meant the G10, the answer is no.
