What are people's thoughts on the quality of Canon's underwater housing?

I am a converted Oly user and used the Oly housings. I am in the market for a new housing and I want to compare the Canon housings with Ikelite. Are the canon housing good quality? I realize for the price the Ikelite will be much better but it is $600 vs $200 for the Canon.

Have there been many problems with canon housings? Break? Leak?

Thanks

I've a canon housing for my G7 , no problem with it ..
It's far cheaper that the Ikelite , far easiest to transport also , but the I kelite allow you to use directly the wheel , without using a combination of buttons as with the Canon housing .

I have the G9 Canon housing. Seems to be decent quality. Have not used it much so far, only just got it. I'm the same as you, couldn't justify the price of the Ikelite housing - yet ;-)
It's also a lot more compact than the ike.

Yeah, but you'll look like a stud with the Ike housing. :D I have the WP-DC50 for my A95 and have been using it since mid-2005 without any problems and I like it. I kinda think the G9 deserves something better and that's why I'm going the Ike route myself. Loosing the ability to use the wheel on the G9 with the Canon housing is one of my biggest problems with it. I don't like the round port either. Better depth rating, more rugged, TTL and looking like a stud is just icing on the cake. IMHO
