Anyone hear of any housings yet for this camera? Looks promising for a pure video camera due to its good low light performance, for a single chip camera.

I'd contacted L&M and they said, 90% sure of having one and would know by mid March to early April, for sure.

It has a LANC port so that makes it possible for any of the electronic mfr's. to make one. I'd wonder if it works in the TopDawg now? I'd like to see Seatool make one, given how small the camcorder body is. I'd guess Ikelite might be tooling up for one also?

Oddly, I got a response today from L&M saying probably no forthcoming housing for the HF G10, but that they are looking at the feasibility of producing one. I hope they come around. Like diversteve, I'd like to see a form fitted housing rather than a generic housing, but with the rapid turnover in camcorders I guess it's hard for a manufacturer to justify the effort for such a small market. I hope surf4life's response reflects L&M's thinking.

Wetpixel video news shows Gates housing for Canon XA10, so looks promising.

The video site at Backscatter list the Gates XA10/HF10 housing for $2490. L&M should be able to answer if they'll have one, too.

L&M said, not planning a housing for HF G10 at this time. They will be doing the HF S30. I'm not sure how that one compares though it does seem more a dual camcorder and photo model. Still haven't found anyone stocking the G10, so guess time will tell how it stacks up to the newer Sony models.

The HF 10 and the HF G10 are different models. IIRC the HF 10 is discontinued also - replaced by the HF R10.

Controls look to be in different locations so the Gates is probably not usable with the newer models.

You're right diversteve. Got the model number wrong. It's the Gates XA10 housing for the model XA10 and HF G10 camcorders. So many different/similar sounding models gets me confused sometimes. Looking forward to an actual review once they get them in stock.
