Hey everyone, this is my first posting here, and my first real purchase towards underwater photography, I've been scuba diving a couple times through one of those couple day training courses in Key West and off a cruise ship, so definitely nothing serious, I've been snorkeling plenty, again, off shores from cruise ports, some excursions, and every chance I get when I go to Panama City Beach in Florida. My wife and I have just spent money and money on those disposable UW cameras, and whereas when we were only going a few times a year it was fine, now we're basically make it a point to go a couple times a month. Based on my research of a well versatile camera and what I want to do with it, we've purchased the Canon ELPH 300 HS. My question now is to which case should I purchase. Because I've seen mixed reviews, I just wanted to see about getting a poll, maybe someone can weigh pros/cons for me, things like that. The two that I can obviously find are the Ikelite and the Canon housings. I've seen things like the Ikelite buttons won't work well until you get to depth, but then the Canon does include as many functions, also it's always in underwater mode; what if I'm on the beach and am trying to keep the camera clean? I don't need it yellow washed you know? So please, any help would be exceptionally appreciated, and I can't wait to get involved in this more and more... because I love the ocean, and reefs and fish... it's all amazing...

Any suggestions? I would like the option to change the setting to beach when I'm on say, the beach; and supposedly the canon won't let you do anything but underwater. But I don't want to go down about 20 feet, and then have the buttons on the ikelite not work as I've also seen stated. So if anyone has any insite/input as to whether these are true, or what they recommend from personal experience, or have pictures they can provide from either case would be greatly appreciated. I've done as much searching as I can not only through here but google/yahoo and other boards. I've seen a handful of pictures from within the ikelite, none from the canon, and I've only seen a couple discussions about how the canon/ikelite is better/worse for etc...
So please any helpful thoughts or criticism would be awesome.
I appreciate it.

All mechanical housing may have issues with buttons as camera are not all the same but have tolerances
Go into a real shop and try instead of buying off the internet if you are not conviced
