Canon A640 newbie.

Hey all. Just found this forum and must say it is a great place to start. I am a newbie to underwater photography (but not to diving). I have a Canon A640 with Canon housing. I am going to buy a strobe soon but have been playing with the camera and the internal flash recently. My question? Are there any good "tutorial" sites that will help me get the best photos? I want to learn how to use the Macro function and as of yet can't seem to get the camera to focus very well close up. HELP!!!

should be very similar to the A570.....Just set it on macro(ie tulip looking icon?) & get close when necessary...see pics in my sig---all were taken in macro, no matter what the distance from subject.......good luck....also, all were taken with int. flash & diffuser ie no strobe.....

Get chdk for it so you can use RAW.

Thanks for answering. I saw CHDK and want to download it. There are so many builds that it's hard to know which one will work best. Any ideas?

Try the new CHDK MoreBest Firmware, I have it in my A720IS and it is a lot better and complete.

CHDK Download - build 0.6.5, revision #541

This version includes the best of all the others.
