Is the 18-55mm lens standard with this camera the same 18-55mm lens I have on my old canon 450d?

Usually it's sold with the newest Canon EF-S 18-55mm IS STM lens. STM stands for "stepper motor" which is faster focus and silent shish is handy when shooting HD video.
I've shot all the 18-55mm "kit lenses" and this newest one is a step above AF performance and also sharpness.

Many thanks for your answer. What wide angle and macro lens would you recommend for this camera. I am leaning towards an ikelite housing.
