Does anyone know if you can switch a light from lead acid batteries to NiMH, or what is involved with changing the light over. Thanks

You shouldnt have any problems doing the swap. You will need 10 NiMh cells in series to give you 12volt nominal.

Things you will need to consider is the capacity of the cells and also the physical size.

You will also need to get a NiMh charger capable of 12volt.

As long as the voltage of the new pack matches the voltage of the original pack you shouldn't have any problems.

As others stated, not an issue. Make sure you figure in the cost of a new charger as well.

What canister do you have?

Someone is selling a proteus light used, and I don't really want a 5 in lead acid battery canister. I found the NiMH battiers for between $50 and $100. I can make a canister to fit the battery, I have access to metal lathes and milling machines. Just trying to find out if the light would work if i switch the battery pack because its a good deal on the light itself. Thanks
