9/20-9/26.

Not nearly long enough.
It's SOOO good to have a trip booked and an airline ticket waiting for us. Yay!

I will dive some, but not a whole lot, as it would be rude to abandon my new husband on our honeymoon too much! Thanks for the snorkeling suggestions, Lori! I have been wanting to see the Cenotes.

You will love Secerets, it is a more upscale hotel. Make sure your new hubby has a pair of pants (trousers for you brits) as a few of thier restuarants have dress codes in effect. The few times I have been there with friends who were staying there, it seemed that the average age is about 45. Not to say that as we get older we have less fun

Don't mean to hi-jack the thread but since you're already booked...

Maria, sorry to hear about your bad experience but, I have to say, we stayed at Moon Palace in May and really had a great time. I'm mid-30's. Staff was always friendly and helpful to us. Did you stay on the Sunrise side (newer) or Nizuc side? We were on the Sunrise side. We visited Xpu-Ha Palace and I don't see myself ever staying there but Moon Palace was good for us.

Sorry I'm chiming in late.... although a lot of younger people like the Palace resorts, the last three people I know who went to the Aventure, Xpu[Ha, and Moon were very dissapointed in the level of service and quality (when considering price paid). I just went toa wedding at the Moon Palace and the result is I will never stay at the chain again.

If you have the chance when going to Tulum, you may want to stop in Akumal as well for a little snorkeling and good food either at Lol-Ha or Cueva del Pescador.

There is also www.hiddenworlds.com that takes you snorkeling at Tak-Be-Ha and Hilario's well. You can do the snorkel and or diving trip and their guides are very good.

Congrats and have a wonderful trip.

We just got back from Canun yesterday, and I gotta tell you, the Secrets Capri was way more than we expected. It was spectacular. So, it was a little touristy, there were many planned activities (including casino night), but we had a totally fab time on our own. The beach is really beautiful, the swim up bar in the incredible pool was great, the food was really good, and the dive op was accomodating. They don't let you swim at night, which is really a bummer, but otherwise, the week was perfect. I never imagined that I would want to stay at an all inclusive resort. I have never stayed in such a luxurious and lean hotel, ever. They upgraded us to a waterfront honeymoon suite, and gave us flowers, free spa treatments, and champagne, it was the most perfect week, We did not want to leave. And we did manage to get to Cozumel one day to go diving, and one day we rented a jeep and drove to Playa Del Carmen and sank into the local culture. That was MOST excellent.
We got caught with a box of Cuban cigars in North Carolina, which sucked. Those things are pricey.
I wanna go back! And I am sure we will.
