Hi!

I know I have seen this on here before, but now I can't find it.

Can someone please lay out the ground transport options to PDC? Looking for cheap, but considering all options that will get me to the ferry terminal to go to Cozumel.

Also - does anyone now how far Villa Aldora is from the ferry terminal? Do we need a taxi or can we walk, or what?

Finally - are mosquitos a problem down there right now?

Thanks!

There is a public bus which is quite comfortable and airconditioned that cost about $9-10 usd per person. The bus will drop you at the bus terminal in PDC (45 minute +/-) and then a short walk to the ferry terminal (when exiting the bus terminal, go right and look for the signs to the ferry terminal).

If you have made your reservation at Villa Aldora, sent an email to them and and let them know you are flying into Cancun, they'll be happy to send you some detailed directions from Cancun to PDC and the ferry.

The Villa is about a mile north of the ferry pier and you will not have any trouble getting a taxi and will cost about $4 usd.

Cancun Airport to Cozumel by ADO Bus

this is a good reference.....thank you Ron Lee

good advice so far. if you are diving with aldora and have your gear with you when you get off the ferry, you may want to consider having one of the tricycle guys take you directly to aldora's office which is near the pier. aldora will take your equipment from you and have it all set up when you get on the boat. even if you do not have gear , you might want to head over to aldora first to set up your rentals. you could even get lucky and run into someone heading out to the villas.
i have never stayed at the villas but went to a party there. nice place. you will enjoy. be sure to look for a green flash as the sun sets over pdc.btw, the mx version of camp david is only a few docks south of where you will be.

As stated above, the ADO bus is the way to go. It is by far the cheapest option. FYI....Don't get fooled by the onslaught of cab drivers when you get through customs. They will offer you cab rides for $80-90, which will quickly be halved when you say no. In the past, we have also been told that the bus isn't running, but knew better. It generally runs every 30 min starting fairly early through the afternoon. If you do choose to take a cab.....Negotiate your price down. Most any cab will take you to PLAYA for under $35 without too much convincing. It really isn't that bad, just be prepared. It costs around $20 each way (including ferry and bus tickets). GOOD LUCK!
