Are any liveaboards offering Canadian divers any deals on par with the US dollar? A lot of diver friends as well as my wife and I are forgoing going south this year because of the low Canadian dollar. We will jump on any good on par prices.

We just returned from a week at God's Pocket Resort in B.C. Last year we were aboard the Nautilus Swell and loved it so much we decided to make B.C. diving an annual event. We've already signed up for next year.

Yeah, the diving on the coast is fantastic. Low dollar just means a couple of trips to the Island over the winter and play with the sea lions.

No way an I paying a 30% premium just to go diving.

You might have a look at the boats priced in Euros. The conversion is nowhere near the hit that you take for those priced in USD. Not going to find any around North America, but some boats that cater to European divers will be priced that way.

I think a trip to British Columbia could cost you more than some locations in the Caribbean even with the exchange rate.

I do not know of any resorts offering $CAN at par. I was talking with the people at Blackbeard's / Aquacat about the Canadian $ situation and was told Canadian divers booking through my facility would get a discount for a week on Blackbeard's or a week on Aquacat. Could save as much as $400.00 US for a week on Aquacat. The discount may change dependent on date of travel and Exchange rate fluctuation. Contact the store for an accurate extimate if you are thinking of traveling.

I have resigned myself to the fact that we're going to take a hit on the Canadian dollar for the foreseeable future. However, many liveabord operators do offer attractive discounts during the year. Explorer Ventures Explorer Ventures Liveaboard Diving: Specials currently has some on offer as does the Aggressor Fleet Aggressor Fleet and Dancer Fleet - Luxury LiveAboard Diving Getting $US 400 off the Aquacat rate is not bad - the boat, crew and meals are great - though you will want to do some reading on the current state of the diving in the Bahamas to see if this is going to meet your expectations.

I am heading to Cuba at the end of this month. Price is almost the same as last year.

Good point re Cuba, grf88. Land based diving in Cuba or Mexico is an option if liveabord does not fit into budget.
