The History of Diving Museum has an underwater light in our "Voices & Lights" exhibit that we have been unable to identify so far. If you happen to know (or think you know) anything about it, such as country of origin, manufacturer or any other piece of information to differentiate it, please post here. We have three examples on display of the light:

Thank you for taking a look and helping the museum!

It is certainly pre_SCUBA and used as a light for commercial helmet diving.

Suggest
1) consult Leon Lyons book "Helmets of the deep " ( I have a copy but have time constraints)
2) telephone Leon Lyons in St Augustine
3) Post on all Historical Dive Society's web site complete with pictures
(FYI just about ever country has an active HDS)

good luck and post your findings--Inquiring minds want to know

Have you opened the housing? Information on the bulb could give you some clues. Is it a sealed-beam?

I saw some lights similar to these at Hunters Point Naval Shipyard back in the 1980s that were used to lower into voids and tanks, but I don't think they are identical. Shipyards were really good at cobbling together unique solutions since they had their own pattern makers, foundries and machine shops.

They "look" like they are too heavy for divers and the reflector seams too small to be pre-WWI.
