I can't seem to find a definate answer to this. Can you do decompression dives with the suunto mosquito?

IndigoBlue:Most tech divers would recommend the VR-3 or Nitec or Commander, if you truly want to go into deco with a dive computer.
I use tables, RGBM tables, when I plan a deco dive, and not a computer.
If you have to ask the question, then you probably do not have the training, and you should not be doing deco dives.

Matt, the mosquito is a good popular computer that has deco capabilities, but as you will find out during deco and extended range training, it is limiting because it is a one gas computer. I know it is Nitrox, but you cant change the gas while you are underwater, and you, the diver can change gas to speed up decompression.
You will find that there are a few multi gas computers on the market, they are still pretty costly and in the event you are "computer diving" you really need two.
I find that it is pretty unusual for divers to decompress only on one gas any more, so have a look into the other options.
As far as a recreational comp that is a convienient watch sized and will do pretty much anything a recreation diver would need, the mosquito is great.
Well, you can, but it's not recommended for use as a deco computer. Does that one have a guage mode? Depending on the future training route you take, you may find the guage mode option to your advantage, whatever computer you decide you want now.midwest_matt:I can't seem to find a definate answer to this. The Mosquito does not have a gauge mode. It has a Freediving mode, but that will lock-out after six minutes (and I don't think it continues as a gauge).Snowbear:Well, you can, but it's not recommended for use as a deco computer.
