Hi all,

I wonder if anyone would be able to help me identify this piece of diving kit found on the body of a North Korean diver in 1998? Can't for the life of me find out what it is.

Thanks in advance!

Not visible unfortunately. Just an entangled mess of wires.

It's two separate detonators rubber banded together. The battery goes in the bottom under the hinged cover held shut with a wire clip. The button on top is the boom boom button. There's a safety lock switch on the other side, out of sight. It's a wired detonator because back in 1950's they did not have reliable wireless equipment for underwater use. Ok, that's my best guess!

Check the other end for these, if they’re still there (bring it outside and put a sand bag or two on the detonator ) close the circuit by twisting the bare wires of the detonator together and snip them off, keep the rest for a souvenir.
