Hi, DANT!

I am a film-user u/w, but use digital for some terrestrial photography, so consider the source!

Recently I have seen the results from a fairly cost-effective digital marketed by Sealife Reefmaster. It is the DC 200 camera and housing. I saw a couple on a recent dive trip and they seemed to produce reasonable results. I did not ask the owners what the price was, but I seem to remember one saying that it was a cheaper combination than an Olympus model he looked at.

At any rate, the thumbnails that I saw on the dive boat looked decent. I think that Berger Bros. sells them:

Oh, yes, one of the diver/photographers mentioned that you could "expand the capability" because it was compatible with all the Reefmaster accessories such as strobes.

Hope this helps.

The set-up that Dee has takes great pictures. I personally have a very similar set-up, C-3020 and PT010. I don't have a strobe yet, but its the next thing on my list. I bought my camera online and my housing through UWdigital. That's where I found the best pricing and had no problem through the whole process. Hope this helps you!

I have the 3040 with the PT-10 housing, check my site for some photo's with an older C920 and my newer 3040.

Personally I don't think you can beat the Cxx40 range due to their excellent lens, super bright (1.8) and takes excellent photo's in low light conditions, that others would mess up.

the good news is that olympus have brought out a new camera the 5050 which is only £50 more expensive than the 4040 and the housing is roughly the same price.

look at the thread which camera do you use, that will give you an idea of which one/make is favored, and ask yourself why people prefer them.
