I've used this tip for the last 3 years after remembering when the visor on my crash helmet used to fog up - no not soap but toothpaste. It never fails (I also put as many silica gel packs in as I can - making sure they can't accidently slip in front of the lense.

Spread a tiny amount of toothpaste (not the gels) all over the inside of the housing and on the lens itself and then remove with a dry lint free cloth. The toothpaste will get into every nook and cranny but so long as it is not in interfering with the lens then it has never been a problem for me and all my dives are fog-free !

This must be done before every dive as the effect will wear off over a whole day's diving. Soe people may say that this will eventually scratch the lens but after 3 years there has been no discernable effect on my Olympus 3040Z or my photos.

BTW - this works great for face-masks too !

Enjoy.
