Just got a new 130 cf hp steel tank. My cam bands (have not been trimmed) are not long enough to completely seal on the velcro. Any ideas, or suggestions for a different type? I have the Highland type which are very good. I have access to a professional seamstress who could sew an extension on the band, not sure if that's the way to go.

i had the same problem with the cam bands of my Apeks wing and backplate , too short for my steel tank. I made a new band starting from zero, bought some 2" nylon webbing , 1 wide 2 " no teeth slide, and a piece of bunngee to make a loop ( secure instead of velcro) Cost 4 o 5 $.
I copy the protective overlap of the buckle from a Dive Rite cam, from a piece of poliester belt 2"1/2 we use in the industry (folder gluer machine)
Works fine.

OMS has nice cam bands, I'm guessing your 130cf tank is 8 inch diameter. If so, no problems.

????? My Highlands fit an AL100 with no problem (8")....

You're better off either:

1) Giving the old cam band/buckle to the seamstress and asking her to make a new one that's a few inches longer
2) Just buying a new cam band.

Dive Rite makes cam bands for doubles: "The long length of { 52 in | 132.1 cm } will encircle a set of doubles."

best Cam Band that can handle a HP 130 is the scubapro bands.. best design out there! a little pricey but hands down the best I have used.

If you decide to sew an extension or just a longer piece of 2" webbing w/Velcro, a sail maker/canvas shop has the sewing machines for that kind of work.....You're just going to have to do a 'cost comparison' of all the options mentioned to find the best price.......
