After my previous post to find out exactly what BCD type I would like to start into as a new diver, I am wanting to buy a BP/W setup, however my LDS doesnt carry any....lame....sooooo

WHERE IS THE BEST LDS IN/NEAR ORLANDO TO LEARN MORE ABOUT/TRY ON/TRY OUT/PURCHASE A BP/W SETUP???

Thanks,
Jeremy

Now I see why there is no response to this thread, I just spent 4 hours and a tank of gas driving to 13 different scuba shops all LDS and not a single freaking one had BP/W for me to look at....of course they were all more than happy to order me one without ever looking or trying one on....Orlando sure is a hell of a place to find a stupid BP/W :shakehead:

Sorry to say... you are a couple of years too late. We had a store called Florida Technical Scuba in Apopka that had all of that gear. They could not make a go of it. Our local merchants are responding to the market. I don't see the BPW being used that often.

Try Dive Rite Express in Pompano Beach or Salvo Supply in High Springs. Good luck with it.

If you come up to High Springs, I HIGHLY reccomend Cave Excursions East, right by Ginnie Springs. Rich there will sell you a BP/W at exremely competitive prices, and will help get it set up and everything. He isn't always in the shop, but is often there weekends, and I can get the shop number for you if you wanted to call and find out when he'd be there. Most helpful shop manager I've met yet!

Also, he's got a singles rig up for sale there, used, for a great price right now, I want to say $275. If you call and tell him that JahJahwarrior told you to, he should be able to help you out.

JahJah beat me to it. Rich is a great guy to deal with, and I would definitely give him a call.

Sweet I must live right by you :P I am off of 436 a few lights down from University :)

I forgot to mention that you can rent a BP/W from cave east, but you do have to buy the 15 feet of webbing for the harness; I think the webbing is something like $1 per foot.
