Cairns suggestions

We stayed at the Tradewinds Esplanade and really enjoyed our stay and the hotel. It was a 4 star but the price was excellent and it was close to town - a couple of blocks walking. The walk to town was enjoyed as you could walk past the library and see all the giant fox bats sleeping and milling around in the trees.

I have stayed at the Cairns Colonial club twice and had a really great time. it has all the amenities i needed and it is set in a stunning rainforrest setting with 3 swimming pools. all the tour operators pick up from there.
