I believe a dual sinc cord is available from Ike (one EV).

Not sure my fav settings w/ single SS200 would be anybody's fav's for dual DS50's.

Due to the fast lens the low light auto focus is unrivaled; for ambient, the P is one of the best camera settings ever sold so cheap. :)

I've asked the same question directly to Ikelite and the answer is you need two controllers. Send an email to Ikelite to confirm.

why not connect strobes to camera via syc cord and hot shoe in housing? Will get true ttl feature this way .Will have no need for ev controllers.Or connect 1 strobe, set on ttl, with hot shoe/sync cord and second strobe, with ev controller set on ttl...I would leave the cameras internal strobe off and have camera set to external strobe only. That way cameras battery power lasts longer.
As for settings, you can pm me here if needed..

He is using Ds-50 strobes. They don't work fast enough for TTL flash operation with the C-5050. And they don't have the power signal on their connector to power the TTL converter in the Ikelite housing. So he is stuck with Optical coupling somehow, and the EV controller is one answer. Another would be moving to DS51s and a dual TTL cord. Or other strobes, the DS-51 is a bit underpowered except for macro.

Didn't we have this discussion before, like in 2004?

Did not catch that he is using older strobes.oops..discussion could not have been with me..I joined board in 2005...He could also ideally get new 160 strobe, use hot shoe via sync cord and use 1 of the ds strobes on a EV controller. This way if he goes to wide angle he is more than covered.

Yes you are correct... I was wondering if they would work without a EV but I understand I need 2 EV's or step up to 160's or a couple of used 125's

Happy Thanksgiving all
