C-5050 Flash question

The flash is set to In+Flash

Try setting it to slave to eliminate the pre-flash. The YS90's don't like pre-flash!

I don't believe that slave is an option if I want to use the camera in full automatic (P) mode. I see the option but can't toggle down to it. Switching modes, to A, for example allows for slave.

That's right, you can't set it...sorry. You can set it in the semi manual modes A & S, have you tried those yet? Think you're ready for them?

I've got about 20 days to get ready for them!

What you can try is take a picture in P mode, look what the settings were and then apply it in a or s mode. Go one up or down and f stop or speed, play a bit.

Also you can check the flash mode from the button on the left of the camera. I set mine to the lighting bolt vs auto. That way it flashes every picture.
