I am in all respects a beginner photographer and rely on lots of automatic settings to take pics. With that out of the way, I have an Oly C-5050, PT015 housing and dual YS-90DX Sea & Sea strobes. I have shot u/w with the camera on about 6 trips. On my last dive trip, the strobes seemed to fire inconsistently and I'm not so sure ambient light was a factor. Is there a setting on the strobes and the camera for the internal flash and strobes combination to fire consistently?

Sorry for the stupid question,
Mark

Do you have a fiber optic cable? What triggers your externals?

Sorry I don't know your strobes. I'm assuming that it is hooked up with fiber optic?

A fiber optic cable triggers strobe #1 and strobe #2 fires based on strobe #1. Strobe #2 has no direct connection.

Make sure both FO cables have a clean cut on the ends that fit into the bracket that holds them on the housing. Make sure the FO cable is seated aall the way into the bracket. Make sure your camera flash is set to slave and/or than the thrength is set to 1 or 2. I only used a single YS90DX but these things are what I did to make sure ir fired consistantly.

What setting do you have the camera set to? It should be slave. Anything else and the pre-flash will mess things up unless the strobes understand it.

The flash is set to In+Flash
