Does the BX Inflator use the standard inflator connector and can the connector be changed to the Octo-Z connector so that you could change from one to the other without changing hoses or adapters.

If you have the Bx coupler (attach a garden hose to it coupler) on the corrugated hose you can switch back and forth between the Bx inflator and the Octo-Z with no problem other than the Octo-Z requires a different LP hose/QD. But, Zeagle and others do sell a QD attachment that allows for a standard inflator to be used with a Octo-Z LP hose. I hope that's what you were asking?

I was hoping that an adapter would not be needed, just another thing to get misplaced or forgotten.

Since it usually involves me switching to, or removing a standard octo at the same time, I just switch the hoses instead of using an adapter. I normally just leave whichever hose is not being used, attached to the unused device, so I don't mix them up or misplace just one item in the system.
the bx adapter can be used on any manufactors bc that has a 1" hose.
yes you can switch the new octo out with the bx adapter, but as ststed above, you will need to change the hose, or buy the universal inflator to octo adapter.
