Hi all

I am just about to go on my first major dive holiday after diving for one day last year on completion of my open water course.

We are heading off to Dahab in Egypt and were wondering if we can buy snorkel, fins and mask there rather than getting it in overexpensive Britain and carting it over there.

Does the plethora of dive centres mean that a lot of them sell gear as well as hire it out?

Hope someone can help.

Cheers

Andy

I wouldn't count on buying anything there. I carry everything I think I'll need - including spare reg, pony, spare mask, spare fins, etc.

$30US worth of good advice. Safegty Sausage, Storm whistle, 2 CDs glued back to back for mirror signaling, and 4 weight belt keepers in your bag just in case, even if you have an integrated BC. It happens that everyone needs to borrow a web belt at times, and rental belts never have keepers. :hm:

you'd be surprised how cheap it can be in this country. an example Ive given before is Day's Diving in Swansea, Wales. I like the kit they have and I find June (owner) and her son to be very helpful. I'm looking at buying a dry suit and I intend to buy in Swansea at Day's rather than closer to home.

Also, if you're looking closer to home try finding a price on the internet, sheffield dive supplies, get a price print it off, and then take it into a local dive shop - ask them to match the price. A lot will
