Thought I'd share this . . .

I blew off work to go diving in the afternoon, and told everyone in the office I had an important "meeting."

Next day, I had my dive computer on my desk (to download the dive), and a co-worker says: "Hey, is that your dive computer?"

Me: "Yup"

Him: "What does it mean when it says 'Fly' with a timer counting down?"

Me: "That's a safety timer for flying after diving." [pause . . .] "Aw, crap!"

I was totally busted! He figured it out in about two seconds.

Love it :rofl3:

Copied, pasted on an email to all my friends - with an explanation of the countdown timers. With luck, this will be all over the net in days. ;)

It was an important meeting with your dive gear. :D

I also messed up the other day when I told my boss about how I spent last wednesday and thursday camping and diving. Then he reminded me that I told him that I couldnt work on wednesdays and thursdays because I have two classes on each of them days.

What, your co-worker never heard of business development? That's when one takes a client to lunch, for a round of golf or for a dive in order to build a relationship and get the client's business. I'm sure that's what kind of meeting you were at. In fact, I was just taken on a dive by someone who was trying to pitch their company to us. ... Speaking of which, all I can tell online is your screen name, not your real name. You're not the one who just took me diving are you? So, what kind of business are you in, anyway? :-)

in greece we (the diving pros) call the dive computers "rufianos" which means snitch, rat, informer;)

So, you scammed to get out of work and go diving, huh? Sweeeet!
