If you use bungie cord (not surgical tube) for attaching the octo, how do you attach it ? Pictures are wellcomed.

TIA

Greg Barlow:
TIA,

I suggest that you go to www.northeastdir.com. Patrick has many excellent photographs of gear configurations.

Best Wishes,

Greg

Thanks, but most pictures are not shown and links doesn't work (Error 404 page not found).

Before it was suggested that a fisherman's knot be used to attch the bungee to the backup reg, but now I think it is common practice to use a second zip tie (the first ziptie holds the mouth piece on to the reg, the second one to secure the bungee). Just knot each end of the bungee and zip tie it (the knots keep the bungee from getting pulled under the ziptie).

Ok I know you said not tubing, but its theonly pic I could find. Just knot the ends of the bungee and attach the same way as in this pic.

You can go directly into the directory and search around:

There's a nice pic of Clio too.

If you don't find what you need, PM me with your email. I will send you some pictures. Very easy to do if you can use side cutters and zip strips.

Double Fisherman's Knot:

http://www.utas.edu.au/docs/climbing_club/TUCC/knots/fish.html

Put the mouthpiece of the reg between the two knots and pull them together closing around the base of the mouthpiece.

Zipties are an instrument of the devil.
