When checking my Perdix, I noticed that the surgical tubings were a bit stiff.

Is there a reason they use surgical tubing instead of bungee ? I am tempted to replace the tubes with bungee, is there any reason to not do so ?

I've always used bungee on mine without issue. I don't know what the advantage of the tubing is supposed to be.

3/16" bungee is just right for me. As a rustic, I am unable to trust tubing. Too much air.

in case it isn’t obvious, the purpose for the extra knot is to make sure that if the bungee breaks you still will have one loop secure through the computer. You could achieve the same thing by using two separate loops, but most of us just use one loop crisscrossed.

I tend to use a couple of knots underneath the computer, but I don’t think it matters.

Most people stopped using tubing more than 15 years ago. It is a natural product that by definition degrades over time and will break without warning.

personal preference. The tubing is typically stretchier than bungee and it tends to "grab" on your suit or skin better than bungee does which is nice. Problem with it as mentioned above is that it breaks pretty quickly so most everyone uses bungee.

With bungee, I find that it holds better when the loops cross, so top left goes to bottom right, then bottom left to top right.

Yes, the single finger, or bolt-snap, doff is pretty slick. I use a long bolt snap on left D-ring for compass and 2 computers (when I'm not diving).

I’ve just been using the buckle straps since I bought the Perdix but I am unsure how much I like them. Do you guys prefer the bungee tubes that come with it over the buckles?

Bungee all the way. I have seen one too many lanyards or wrist fittings made from surgical tubing, suddenly snap or become repellently sticky . . .
