Ran into a 7-8 foot bullshark while free diving the pershing street rock pile a couple days ago. About 200 yards off-shore.

Never seen a shark before except for the nurse sharks, was curious if they are coming closer to shore now?

So, did you get some video of it? :)

No, the camera was on the raft. And we decided at that point, we should just go somewhere else, so i didn't bother getting the camera out and trying to take pictures.

If it was any other shark I wouldn't have worried so much, but bulls scare the crap out of me.

Most shark attacks in Sept so not that far off an active feeding period. Bulls are always closer to shore than most would guess, they seem to particularly like river mouths and channel openings...

Walter:
After September, there are fewer people in the water.

good point.

I saw one there back in august. Passed by me once & I never saw it again. I also saw a small nurse shark on that dive, about 3 feet long.

We were hunting bugs, not fish, so the bull had little interest in us.
