Dear everyone,

I'm a British diver who will be on holiday in September in Plymouth, Mass, and I'm looking for anyone who'd be prepared to take me on a tour of any of your local sites (please). I've qualified with Padi, with over 100 dives logged, and I'm just finishing off my divemaster course. I can bring as much kit with me as British Airways will allow! I'm used to diving in dry suits in deep quarries, so cold that getting ice in your regs is a risk, so getting into a wet suit will be quite a novelty fror me. I am free on Sunday 7th September - Wednesday 10th September, and Wednesday 17th until Thursday 18th. If anyone is free and willing to dive with a (trustworthy) stranger, I'd be eternally grateful.

Many thanks.

Neil

You may want to consider bringing your drysuit along with you ;)

Really? Oh well, better start saving for my 'excess baggage' fines...

The water temps are warmer the further south you are. (warmer than Cape Ann) I dive off a buddies beach house and the water temp at this time of year is mid-60s. In September, it's still fine to dive w/ 7MM wetsuit. I wouldn't bother bringing your Drysuit.

I would bring only your reg/computer, Mask, Fins, and booties. The rest, (incl. hood, gloves) you can rent locally from Divers Market http://www.diversmarket.com

In case you haven't made plans as to where to stay, I would recommend my buddies place. He and his wife (Jack and Denise)run a Bed and Breakfast right on the water. (URL below) If my buddy Jack is in town, you may be able to pursuade him to join you for a dive to catch dinner. (primo lobstering spot) Shore dives off Plymouth are rather shallow (25 ft) You really have to swim out far to get depth.

Thanks for your advice Luis, I'll bear it in mind. I've already got people to stay with, but they're all non-divers!
