What are the differences between the regular models and the ones with V after the model number? For example a DIV01 and a DIV01V?

DIV10 is spot light. DIV10V is very wide spread video light.

I have DIV10 myself as travel light. Comparing the beam to LM 21W HID, DIV10 puts out noticeably more light, lights up more area. This is very noticeably in a night dive, I would say easily 50% more light. LM21 probably put out brighter hot spot, but hot spot is significantly smaller. I also did current/power measurement on DIV10, I estimated it to put out about 1500 lumens of light.

I still mainly use LM21 for home diving because in terms of overall quality, LM light is still on a different level. And I prefer tight beam for NorCal low viz water.

Like below said, regular models flashlight is spot light, beam angle 8-12°. "V" series are for video use, beam angle 120°.
Just different beam angle for different requirements.
Like below picture, second is video flashlight.

You are right!
HID also have more advantages than LED flashlight ,especially in cave diving.:cool2:
If your DIV10 use a shining line?

Thank you both for the information. I guess my poor Halcyon 10W HID is obsolete. :depressed:

Nonono, I think HID light is more usful than LED flashlight when diving in some places.
They have different advantages:wink:.
