In 1947 JYC and company dove repetitively to 300' on air with varying results. Later that year Fargues died after reaching 396' on air. Double hose regs, oval masks, woolen wetsuits.
Not really relavent - Just nit picking.
 
I can't believe all of this went this far. Surface decompression tables using air only go to 190 feet.
I doubt if you could make it down to 300 ft with a regulator alive.

The Navy Air Decompression table, Rev. 5, goes to 300 fsw.

It's the No-D table that stops at 190 fsw.
