Hi all,
Just finished my padi certification today and have been looking into gear. Any suggestions (or where else on the forum to go)? First, mask, fins, snorkel. Next, wetsuit, regulator, computer?
I'll be diving mostly in NJ, ocean and bays/rivers.
Can't wait!

Welcome to SCUBAboard!

Congratulations! I also got my PADI certification today in Jamaica while here on business. I am so hooked on diving now.

Welcome to SB, this is a great site to absorb information and pick the brains of Scuba geniuses.... I recommend taking a look underThe Equipment of Scuba Diving or also utilizing the search function for details on cold gear.... Enjoy your time here :)

Congrats!!!!! :) I second that.... TSC is the way to go. I had to learn the hard way and now have almost two sets of gear. I would have been better off if I knew about TSC before I purchase my gear at my lds which didn't provide much guidance. If you going to dive around NJ cost Drysuit is the way to go. TSC lets you try before you buy. They have an indoor pool at their facility.

Just like you. I'm hooked and can't wait to blow bubbles again.

Hello! Welcome to NE Coast diving! Regarding gear, I recommend trying before buying. I agree with a lot of people here who say The Scuba Connection is the way to go for gear. Why? THEY HAVE AN INDOOR POOL WHERE YOU CAN TRY GEAR ON SITE!!! I have also found them to be the most knowledgeable concerning the needs of the local diver. Best of luck and see you underwater!
