BP/Wing w/o STA Question

I have the DR SS BP with Oxycheq Mach V Extreme. The top screw goes through wing grommet, harness grommet and BP. The lower screw goes through the wing, BP, then lower waist belt.

Some DR waist belts are in 2 pieces, so the lower screw would only go through wing and BP.

If I didn't already have so much stuff and it wasn't such a long long way to Pasadena
I would definitely pay a visit and get some more stuff.
And you're just up the road and there is nothing better than fingering stuff and getting info from the horses mouth.
The glide harness adapter is genius.

Nope. The grommets (wing and harness) and the bolt heads are the primary contributor to tank rock when direct mounting.

DSS approached this problem by eliminating both the grommets and bolts, and by including a elastomeric tank cradle in the middle of the wing.

And the result is a very low profile, streamlined, rock solid BP/W. The lack of needing the STA is one of the things that attracted me to the DSS setup. It just seemed that the less 'stuff' involved the better.

I thought the exact same thing you described when I removed my STA bc they weighed too much for me. The Diverite wing is connected to the backplate with 2 sex bolts through a grommet. Yes the cylinder sits on these bolts and NO it doesn't wobble around AT ALL. I do protect the tank by attaching a piece of intertube to the bolt so the rubber is between the tank and the bolt.
